By action taken on November 10, 2025, a majority of the Wayzata School Board decided to force a special election on April 14, 2026, to vote on three supplemental funding requests, rather than submit them on the general election ballot in November 2026.
The three referenda are:
-
Renew an existing $6,500,000/year technology levy.
- A vote YES would have no impact on property taxes.
- A vote NO would reduce property taxes.
-
Consider $465,000,000 in new 25-year bond funding for additional and improved learning spaces, including a new elementary school & middle school (both in Medina), an addition to the high school, and improvements to existing buildings.
- A vote YES would increase property taxes.
- A vote NO would have no impact on property taxes.
-
Consider $31,000,000 in new 25-year bond funding to construct an eight-lane swimming pool at the high school.
- A vote YES would increase property taxes.
- A vote NO would have no impact on property taxes.
