How do I run for Delegate/Alternate to a higher-level convention?
Please follow the instructions in the Call for Nominations.
In short, if you intend to seek endorsement or election, then please send an email to the Search/Nomination Committee at [email protected] stating your intention to run as soon as possible, but no later than April 1, 2024.
In your email, please include the following:
- Your full legal name.
- All position(s) for which you are seeking endorsement/election (e.g., HD45A Rep., HD45B Rep.,
Delegate, or Alternate) - The full street address of your primary residence.
- Answers to the following questions:
- Do you currently live within the geographical boundaries of Senate District 45?
People who live outside of SD45 are ineligible to run.
- Who did you support in the 2022 gubernatorial election?
- Who did you support in the 2020 presidential election? - A personal statement (OPTIONAL) – up to 500 words that may be shared with all SD45 BPOU Delegates and Alternates in advance of voting.

Who is eligible to serve as a Delegate/Alternate to a higher-level convention?
SD45’s Constitution & Bylaws provide that only current BPOU Delegates and Alternates (elected at Precinct Caucuses held in February 2024) may be elected to serve as a Delegate or Alternate to a Higher-Level Convention. (Article VI, Section 7)

Can I participate in the BPOU convention remotely?
Delegates and alternates must be present in person in order to be seated and participate in the convention.
It is not necessary to be present to be elected to serve as a Delegate/Alternate to a higher-level convention. Please follow the instructions in the Call for Nominations to express your interest in being a candidate in advance of the convention.
