Answer

As dictated by Minn Stat. §202A.18, Subd. 2a, in a year when the office of governor appears on the state general election ballot, prior to the opening of nominations for the election of permanent offices and delegates, a ballot must be distributed to permit caucus participants to indicate their preference for the office of the governor.

The results of preference voting will be reported by the BPOU to the Republican Party of Minnesota, and then to the Minnesota Secretary of State as soon as practicable upon conclusion of the voting.

A volunteer who is willing to sign as a witness to the time the ballots were distributed and collected is necessary to complete the RPM's straw poll process.
